Meet the Director

Melissa Kasik-Requilman, Ocean Pointe Director and Regional Director West

Melissa “Missy” Kasik-Requilman has served as a Director with Seagull Schools for over 12 years and has over 18 years of combined experience in working with young children and adult educators in a variety of settings in the Early Childhood field. Missy graduated from Chaminade University of Honolulu with a Master of Education degree in Child Development and a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and obtained a Master of Art degree in Health and Wellness Coaching from Maryland University of Integrative Health.

Missy loves to give back to the community through volunteer work as a ministry coordinator at her church for youth programs, she is an advisory member on the EPIC Ministry board, is currently serving as the chair for Kia’I Ika ‘ike Directors’ group for Early Childhood Educators in Hawaii and is also an advisory member for the James Campbell Highschool Academy of Public and Human Services.

In her spare time outside of community service, Missy really enjoys spending quality time with family, dining out at diverse restaurants, reading, gardening, cooking, and attending workshops related to complementary and alternative wellness.

Missy wholeheartedly believes that providing a quality and rich nurturing “first school” experience for a young child (and their family) is one of the greatest and most honorable things we can do for a child’s future. She remains excited to continue this work daily with a passionate team of educators and finds priceless reward in the larger impact she makes every day with her warmth and caring presence in the world.
